Stress, socialising, gratitude and mindfulness..
Doctor Developed ~ Patient Inspired
This episode was filmed before the lockdown, and to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about posting it.
I felt it was a bit preachy in the current context. However, I decided to post it, with the aim of encouraging everyone, myself included, to be aware of their mind and mood, even though it may be difficult given our current circumstances.
There are a lot of different stresses and strains facing us now. Finances, isolation, uncertainty.
Socialising is obviously very difficult now, but try and stay connected. Zoom, FaceTime, Whatsapp calls, a friendly text to let someone one know you are thinking of them. Waving to neighbours.
Internally practicing gratitude, though it may be particularly difficult now, can bring many benefits. Bring one positive aspect of your day to mind and think about it for a few seconds of minutes. Bring warm, funny memories to mind and allow them to bring you joy.
I have attached some links below on mindfulness and stress if you would like to read more.
All of these things benefit your mind and your heart via your blood pressure and stress hormones.
